West Wales Foraging Weekend September 2018 – Mushrooms.

We would like to invite you to a fungi foraging foray around the beautiful grounds of the Glynhir Estate.

When: Sunday the 23rd of September 2018

Cost: £60 per person.

Overnight stay (includes Sunday breakfast): £125.

The morning will begin with an introduction to foraging by either Marlow or Eric, seasoned foragers in their fields from Wild Food Uk.

Marlow from Wild Food UK prepares a pesto from foraged ingredients to have with the rest of the foraged meal which included such edibles as common hogweed, oyster mushrooms, hairy bittercress and ground elder.

You will then go off to explore our lovely grounds, 220 acres of woodland, rivered gorge, fields and gardens. The foraging walk will take 2-3hrs with a break to sample some ready-made wild foods.

Our delightful woodlands.

The day will conclude with a light meal that you will prepare from the wild foods you have collected on your outing.

So come and see what there is to eat on and around our local area, you will make new friends and meet people with common interests.

Comfortable rustic accommodation providing simple pleasures.

There are five available rooms in the house so book early if you wish to reserve an en-suite. All cottages have shared bathroom facilities except for one of our cottages which has one room available with an en-suite.
