Our courses and activities tend to be relaxed and uncomplicated. We want you to enjoy ‘The Glynhir Experience’ as much as the course or activity of your choice. We offer comfortable accommodation, delicious home cooking with excellent tutors and group leaders who bring their subjects alive with their enthusiasm, skill and knowledge.
For the past 25 years Glynhir has been host to such events, situated in the atmospheric and relaxing surroundings of the 18th Century Huguenot Estate. The estate provides the ideal setting for drawing, painting, music, photography, flora and fauna pursuits, writing and other activities.
Surrounded by an abundance of natural beauty Glynhir is located in the rugged foothills of the Black Mountain. Hidden amongst the forty acres of enchanting grounds lies the spectacular thirty foot waterfall, providing a breathtaking backdrop to the ancient woodlands.
Our accommodation includes: the country house, dating from the mid-1600s; boasting spacious bedrooms, a large comfortable sitting room with a baby grand piano and hearty dining room for serving meals. When groups exceed the space of our dining area, we have a conservatory and large restaurant for alternative dining arrangements.
Within the grounds we have five cottages all situated within a private village. Each cottage has been gently restored in order to protect its historic foundation. There’s no ‘open plan’ here at Glynhir, everything has been preserved as closely to the original structures of the buildings as is possible. We think that is what gives our establishment its character.
